Every day I choose a new startup which will help to make your own startup more successful. Today we’ll talk about a data management service via browser.
Airtable combines a usual interface of a mobile app and possibilities of relational data base. The service will make easier access to any necessary for a user information through using own system of database management.
A service user can add fields to the tables, use smartphone control elements (e.g. swipes), edit fields, search for notes, create own tables, add photos, videos, connect tables with the help of external keys and use a base along with colleagues or family members, marking them in the notes.
The main advantage of Airtable is simple and convenient interface.
There is a powerful database management system in the core of Airtable. Initially, app creators planned to make a system for convenient financial reporting in a company. Airtable has API which helps to integrate possibilities of the service into own informational system for any organization.
I remember the times when in order to work with data we used personal databases like MS Access, Clarion, FoxPro, dBase. The base was kept in a file and a special program was needed for access and work with these data.
But now it’s so pleasant and easy to work with data in the epoch of cloud services! Do you make an app? Need to keep your data somewhere? Are you thinking about getting a server or a cloud hosting? Why?!?! If there is Parse? It gives you a ready infrastructure with database, pushes, ready classes for integration with Facebook. And you can manage all these via any browser. Fantastic!
