At the present moment the project is a part of Fabric.io framework and belongs to Twitter.

Initially it was an effective mechanism for tracking failures in apps. It allows to track Play Store crashes for Android apps and iOS.

The service provides basic app statistics: DAU, MAU, online users, daily new users, crash report and sessions. Statistics display is very convenient and graphic. Every day you get an email with indices review and dynamics of their changes for your each app.

With the help of identification mechanisms you can save emails of the users who had app crashes and specify the cause.

Since joining Fabric.io, the service has added a possibility to test apps, as it was realized by Testflight. There is such a possibility for Android now, but before that you had to lay out in Alpha on the market and wait for several hours. Inviting new users is more convenient now and SDK-integration is rather simple.

Other services which compete with Crashlytics:

  • BugSense - Splunk has bought it and now they are called Splunk Mint.
  • TestFlight - Apple has bought it.
  • HockeyApp - Microsoft has bought it.
  • Crittercism - nobody has bought it yet.

In this article all these solutions are compared in a detailed way. At the end of it you will find a comparative table. Choose your own solution and get rid of bugs and crashes in your apps.
